Visa Duration & Entry Rules

Tourist and visit visas are granted for 30 days or 60 days

The approved stay period begins from the date you enter the UAE

Travelers must enter the UAE before the visa expiry date

Visas may be issued as single-entry or multiple-entry, depending on approval

Overstay, Absconding & Penalties

Failure to extend a visa within 24 hours after expiry may result in the visa holder being officially marked as absconding in the UAE immigration system.

To avoid legal complications, we strongly advise submitting a visa extension request at least 7 days prior to the visa expiry date.

Daily overstay fines are applied automatically if a visa expires without extension, regardless of the reason or circumstance.

If absconding status is applied, the following penalties may occur:

• AED 5,000 fee to remove absconding status
• Daily overstay fines continue in addition to the AED 5,000 penalty
• Total fines increase with each passing day until resolved

Please note that visa extensions are not processed on weekends or UAE public holidays.

Visa records and immigration status in Dubai are administered by:

• General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA – Dubai)

Federal immigration oversight is handled by:

• Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP)

Usage Limitations & Legal Conditions

Short-term visas do not permit employment, freelance work, or any form of business activity within the UAE.

Children must hold individual passports and visas. Visa endorsement on a parent’s passport is not permitted under UAE regulations.

Travel, Extension & Exit Advisory

To prevent legal issues such as:

• Absconding classification
• AED 5,000 absconding removal fee
• Accumulating daily overstay fines

Ensure that your visa is extended before its expiry date.

Visa extension services are unavailable during:

• Weekends
• UAE public holidays
• Government office closures

Immigration offices remain closed on official non-working days.

We strongly recommend applying for visa extensions at least one week in advance.

If you do not intend to extend your stay, you must exit the UAE on or before the visa expiry date.

Please exercise caution during major public holidays such as Eid, as visa processing timelines may be delayed.

Final approval for entry, exit, or re-entry is always subject to:

• Immigration officer discretion at the airport
• Valid and updated visa status in the immigration system
